SME Chapter 38 offers student in its student chapter everything from hard-to-find technical information on state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and applications to providing them unparalleled networking opportunities to help them land that first job on their career path.
For over 38 years, our local chapter of SME has worked to promote special fund raising activities to generate dollars to support the selection of outstanding students who are enrolled in the manufacturing engineering programs at our local colleges, Grand Valley State University and Ferris State University. Our selection process includes recognition for a high grade point average, leadership qualities shown both at school and work, special interests in the general area of manufacturing, quality, tooling, and design.
We would like to ask you to consider a contribution/donation to help us with funding at least one scholarship award for each of the universities mentioned and/or student projects and activities. The award is given to each of the respective schools in the students name to be used only for tuition. As the amount increases each year the burden increases more on each student and requires more effort on our part to help these young people.
From the local retailers and merchants, we ask for gift certificates or merchandise that we can raffle off at one of our membership meetings or events to build our scholarship fund.
All contributions and donations are 100% deductible. We will notify you in a thank you letter later this summer.
